    Προεπιλογή Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo Cabrio

After releasing the B6 Bi-Turbo Cabrio just a few weeks ago, based on the 6-Series Cabrio, BMW tuning specialists at Alpina got their hands on the new 5-Series and decided to upgrade its power and give it a sporty touch, a fact well appreciated by those who think the M5 is a motorway.
Alpina says that its D5 Bi-Turbo is powered by a 3.0 liter twin-turbo straight-six unit, which is delivering a maximum 345 horsepower, but in a world where everyone is “used” to supercars this might not be that impressive.
What really catches our eye is the fuel consumption which is in the 530d territory, with 6.2 liters of fuel burned in an average cycle every 100 kilometers, the same as its diesel brother which offers only 241 horsepower.
The D5 Bi-TurboΆs engine is connected to an eight-speed ZF Switch-Tronic Sport Automatic gearbox revised by Alpina, and the “new 5-Series” can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, with a top speed of 270 km/h or 168 mph.
“In 1998 Andreas Bovensiepen, together with Stuck, Menzel and Duez, won the 24h Nürburgring at the wheel of a BMW 320 diesel engined race car – which was certainly unconventional at the time. This success provided the impetus for ALPINA to start the development of a high performance version of the BMW 3 litre inline six cylinder diesel engine utilising two turbochargers. The result was phenomenal: the D10 Bi-Turbo, on basis of the BMW 5 Series, held the record for the fastest production diesel saloon for many years! Especially long distance drivers valued the unique combination of excellent handling, brilliant comfort and long cruising range”, as Alpina says in an official statement.
Being an aftermarket upgrade, Alpina also fitted both versions of the 5-Series with new 20 inch Classic rims, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires

BMW Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo Cabrio released

BMW tuning specialist Alpina is currently doing what the Bavarian automaker should have done in the first place, a powerful version of the 6-Series under its B6 Bi-Turbo Cabrio name, which seems like a good alternative until the real M6 gets here.

The new Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo Cabrio takes its power from BMWΆs 4.4 liter V8 unit with new twin-turbines from the BMW tuning specialist, boosting its power up to 507 horsepower at 5.500 rpm, while the torque reaches 700 Nm or 516 lb-ft, delivered between 3.000 and 4.750 rpm.
According to Alpina, the B6 drop-top can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds reaching a top speed of 311 km/h or 193 mph, all of this with a combined fuel consumption of 10.9 liters per 100 kilometers and CO2 emissions of 255g/km.

You would think that the new B6 Bi-Turbo Cabrio will make its official debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, youΆre wrong. The latest creation signed by Alpina will be unveiled at the next yearΆs Geneva Auto Show.
