Chris Harris of DRIVE goes behind the wheel of the BMW M6 Coupe and compare it against the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG. Interesting tidbit? Combined, the two cars have over 1100 horsepower.

The M6 Coupe is powered by a high-revving 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, consisting of Twin Scroll Twin Turbo technology, cross-bank exhaust manifold, High Precision Direct Petrol Injection and VALVETRONIC fully variable valve control. The cars deliver 560 hp at 6,000 – 7,000 rpm and maximum torque of 680 Newton meters (502 lb-ft) from 1,500 rpm.

Based on the SL-Class that debuted at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, the SL63 AMG packs a twin-turbo 5.5 liter V8 producing 529 horsepower (557 with AMG Performance Package) and 664 lb-ft of torque. The new SL63 AMG can rocket from 0-62 mph in 4.3 seconds (4.2 with the optional AMG Performance Package) while returning 30 percent better fuel economy. Top speed rises to 186 mph.

LetΆs see which one gets thumbs up from Harris!
