Theophilus Chin and Chris Doane Automotive deliver for Road & Track some great renderings of the 2014 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe.
The four-door coupe version of the upcoming 2 Series aims to compete with similar offerings from Mercedes (CLA) and Audi (A3 sedan). The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will offer to customers the sleekness and design of a coupe with the practicality of a sedan, without going into the 3 Series range of vehicles.
The exterior design is based on the 2 Series Coupe and Convertible models, but with a slightly longer platform to accommodate the sleek roof line and increased size. The 2 Series Gran Coupe sports short overhangs at the front and rear with a coupe-like profile all around.

Under the hood, the 2014 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is going to offer a wide range of engines from the 4 and 6-cylinder engine family. The car will retain the rear-wheel drivetrain while the engines will be matted to a six-speed or eight-speed automatic transmissions.
BMW is expected to debut the 2 Series family next year at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
